Five Bulldogs Earn Spots on MVC Women's Soccer Scholar-Athlete Teams

Maria Cervello highlighted the list as a Scholar-Athlete First Team selection.

ST. LOUIS – Five members of the Drake women's soccer team were placed on Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete Teams, the league announced on Friday, Nov. 17.
 
Maria Cervello was Drake's lone Scholar-Athlete First Team selection earning All-MVC Second Team honors on the pitch and a 4.0 grade point average pursuing her Master's in Leadership Development.
 
Layla Kelbel (3.82 GPA, Open Enrolled), Lily Overstreet (3.82 GPA, Actuarial Science) and Laura Riesenbeck (4.0, Masters in Leadership Development) were all named to the MVC Scholar-Athlete Second Team.
 
Hallie Peak scored a career-best three goals this season while upholding a 3.97 cumulative GPA in Biology for a spot on the MVC Scholar-Athlete Third Team.
 
Drake women's soccer won the MVC regular season title and finished the campaign with a 13-4-3 record.
