ATLANTA, Ga. — Tucker DeVries of Drake men's basketball was placed on the 2024 Naismith Trophy Preseason Watch List, as announced on Monday, Nov. 6. The trophy will be awarded at the end of the 2023-24 season to the top player in NCAA Division I men's basketball. The watch list consists of 50 candidates.

DeVries was the 2022-23 Larry Bird Trophy winner and was predicted to repeat the honor, being named MVC Preseason Player of the Year for the second straight season. DeVries averaged a team-high 18.6 points per game for the Bulldogs a season ago.
 
Drake men's basketball will open the 2023-24 campaign at home against Lipscomb on Wednesday, Nov. 8. with a 7 p.m. tip-off inside the Knapp Center.
