ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Sophomore forward
Anna Miller has been named as one of 12 Missouri Valley Conference student-athletes to earn the 2023 Winter State Farm MVC Good Neighbor Award, the league announced today.
Miller is currently majoring in Health Sciences and minoring in Biology and Spanish for Medical Health Professionals. She boasts a spectacular 4.00 cumulative grade point average and was named to the President's List in Fall 2021, Spring 2022, and Fall 2022. She was also a member of the 2021-22 MVC Honor Roll.
The Rochester, Minn. native has actively contributed to various community service organizations during her time at Drake including the local Boys and Girls Club and Miracle League of Urbandale. She has also spent time volunteering for the Hospital Elder Life Program at Unity Point and recently started mentoring and spending time with children in the nursery at Walnut Creek Church.
Miller is one of five women's basketball players to receive the award this season including Abby Feit (Evansville), Jaidah Black (Murray State), Tiana Jackson (UIC), and Cynthia Wolf (UNI).
To be eligible for the award, the student-athlete must be in good academic standing, must demonstrate good citizenship through good sportsmanship and significant community service, and must participate in a sport, during the season of recognition. The Valley recognizes 12 student-athletes three times annually (Fall, Winter, Spring), for a total of 36 honorees. Institutions select their State Farm MVC Good Neighbor Award honorees.
