COAL VALLEY, Ill. -- The Drake men's golf team completed the opening round of the MVC Championships at Oakwood Country Club (par 71 | 6,760 yards) on Sunday, April 23.

Drake (298) is currently 10th as a team following round one.

Jack Dumas finalized a first round score of 72 (+1) to tie for 17th place after 18 holes. Shayne Patel and Nikko Ganas both fired a 75 (+4) in the opening round. 

Lucas Scherf turned in a 76 (+5) is seeking his sixth consecutive Top-20 finish this season. Nate Spear (76, +5) rounded out the Bulldog lineup. 

The second round will be played Monday, April 24.
