COAL VALLEY, Ill. – Drake men's golf, and the rest of the Missouri Valley Conference, completed the final round of the 2023 MVC Championships this afternoon at Oakwood Country Club in Coal Valley, Ill. The Bulldogs finished in 10th place of the 10-team field, just one shot behind the ninth-place team, Missouri State.
 
The Bulldogs (298-293-292) fired off their best team score of the tournament, punctuating their scorecard with a 292.
 
Jack Dumas (72-74-72--218) paced the Bulldogs on day three with a round of 72, one-over par, to finish as Drake's lowest player at T-23.
 
Lucas Scherf (76-72-73--221), Drake's lone All-Conference performer, as well as Nikko (75-74-73--222) Ganas posted rounds of 73. Shayne Patel (75-73-74--222) matched Ganas on the final leaderboard in a tie for 37th place.
 
Finally, Nick Pittman, Drake's substitute, shot a five-over 76 on the final day.
 
Illinois State won the event going away at 16-under par, 13 strokes lowers than the runner up Valparaiso at -3. The Beacons' Anthony Delisanti (66-64-70—200) captured the individual crown at -13 while Felix van Dijk (65-69-70—204) of Illinois State was the runner-up at -9.
