Drake Records Department-Best Seven Perfect Academic Progress Rate Scores

Drake student-athletes have excelled in the classroom based on the most recent Academic Progress Report (APR) data, released on Tuesday, May 2 by the NCAA. Seven Bulldog athletic programs earn perfect 1,000 APR scores for the 2021-22 academic year.

The Drake athletic programs that earned a perfect APR score for the 2021-22 academic year were men's basketball, men's golf, women's basketball, women's cross country, women's golf, women's soccer and women's track & field. An additional three teams scored 989 or better: rowing, women's tennis, softball, men's track & field and volleyball.

The seven perfect scores rank as the second-most in the Missouri Valley Conference this year and are the most perfect APR scores in Drake Athletic Department history since APR was recorded in 2004.

Each academic year, every Division I sports team across the country calculates its APR using a simple and consistent formula. Each term, scholarship student-athletes can earn 1 point for remaining eligible and 1 point for staying in school or graduating. For schools that do not offer scholarships, recruited student-athletes are tracked. The Academic Performance Program has established an essential framework for academic excellence. The program provides measurable goals to ensure schools are fulfilling their commitment of equipping student-athletes with the tools and resources necessary to achieve academic success.

APRs for each team are available online through the NCAA's searchable database
