The Drake University men's and women's cross country programs have reached opening weekend for the 2023 season. The year kicks off at Minnesota's Oz Memorial in Minneapolis at Les Bolstad Golf Course on Friday evening (Sept. 1).

MVC Preseason Polls
The Drake men's cross country team was picked to win the Missouri Valley Conference coaches poll earning 10 first place votes while the Drake women's cross country team was predicted to finish third in the Missouri Valley Conference coaches poll. 
 
Regional Recognition
The Drake men's cross country team ranks fourth in the preseason USTFCCCA Midwest Region rankings while the Bulldog women's squad comes in at No. 12 in the USTFCCCA Midwest Region rankings.
