WEST DES MOINES, Iowa -- Day one of the Zach Johnson Invitational hosted by Drake men's golf at Glen Oaks Country Country Club (Par 71) came to an end of Monday (Sept. 25) with the Bulldogs in ninth place out of 13 teams with a combined score of 586 (302-284).
Junior
Jack Dumas (74-68--142) paced Drake with an overall even first day as he is currently tied for 20th.
Nate Spear (74-72--146) also rebounded well from a first round 74 to land within the Top-30 tied for 28th place.
Transfer
Toby Webb (77-71--148) settled in during his first official tournament at Glen Oaks.
Emil Riegger (77-73--150) improved his opening round score by four strokes while
Nikko Ganas (81-77--158) rounded out the Drake lineup.
Jake Weissenburger (71-76--147) started out strong playing as an individual and finds himself tied for 32nd. Also competing as individuals,
Dylan Drogemuller (70-78--148) was under par in the first round with
Silvester Tan (74--76-150) not far behind.
The final round of the Zach Johnson Invitational will begin Tuesday, Sept. 26, with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
