RIVERSIDE, Iowa – Drake men's golf wrapped up day one of the ANF Fall Classic hosted by Iowa at Blue Top Ridge Golf Course (Par 72) on Tuesday, Sept. 5. The Bulldogs are currently in seventh place as a team (284-299--583). Iowa State (278-282--560) is in the lead following two rounds.
"We played solid in the first round," head coach
Matt Lewis said. "We had four great scores led by Jack and Nikko. Emil played really well in the afternoon. We struggled in the second round as the course played tougher due to strong winds. We had too many big numbers in the second round."
Emil Riegger (72-70--142) settled into 10
th place through two rounds.
Jack Dumas (69-74--143) fired Drake's lowest score of the day in the first round and is currently tied for 11th place.
Nikko Ganas (70-78--148) began the day with a first round two strokes under par.
Silvester Tan (73-77--150) and
Jake Weissenburger (78-86--164) rounded out the Bulldog lineup.
Nate Spear (72-79--151) competed as an individual.
The final 18-hole round will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 6.
