ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Drake sophomore Jake Weissenburger has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Men's Golfer of the Week, the league announced on Thursday.
 
Weissenburger led the Bulldogs in their final tournament of the fall season at the ODU/Kilmarlic Intercollegiate tying for 10th place on the leaderboard. Weissenburger's performance marked his second top-10 finish this season. As a team, Drake placed seventh in the 14-team field.
 
Over three rounds of play the Clive, Iowa native carded rounds of 73-69-70 en route to 212 final score. Weissenburger led the field in scoring average on par-5's at 6-under, 4.50 and tied for the third in the field with 14 birdies.
 
This marks the first MVC weekly award for a member of the Drake men's golf team since 2022.
 
The Bulldogs will take to the tees next after the calendar turns to the new year for the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate, Feb. 24-26.
