IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Drake men's golf team battled through a tough three rounds of golf at the Hawkeye Invitational from Apr. 13-14 at Finkbine Golf Course (Par 71, 7,197 yards) in Iowa City. The team placed 15th out of 16 teams and were one of several group to fall short to tournament champions Wisconsin (279-279-282—840).
Emil Riegger (67-73-71—211) led the Bulldogs in scoring and with the lowest tournament score of the team, while also placing 16th overall in individual player scoring.
His opening-round 67 was the lowest single-round score of the weekend for Drake.
Nikko Ganas (74-75-70—219) also kept up with the competition to help the team stay afloat.
Jack Dumas (72-78-72—222), Silvester Tan (76-80-70—226) and
Nate Spear (72-83-77—232) all rounded out the five-player lineup for the Bulldogs in Iowa City despite falling short in scoring.
Drake will return to the tee box Apr. 21-23 in the Missouri Valley Championship at The Club at Porto Cima in Sunrise Beach, Mo.
