SUNRISE BEACH, MO—The Drake men's golf competed at the MVC Championships at The Club at Porto Cima in Sunrise Beach, Mo., from Apr. 21-23. The team placed fifth out of the 10 Valley teams and used a final round 286 team score to climb back into the top five. Southern Illinois won the event.  
 
Emil Riegger (74-72-71—217) lead the Bulldogs at +1 over the span of the three rounds with Silvester Tan (76-76-70—222) right behind him. Riegger ended the tournament tied for 12th while Tan finished tied for 18th. Tan also posted held the lowest single-round score for Drake with final round 70.  
 
Nikko Ganas (75-74-74—223) came next in the Bulldog lineup with an steady score across the three days. Jack Dumas (72-78-71—221) also had a respectable performance to help the teams overall score.  
 
Jake Weissenburger shot a 76 in the third round of play while Nate Spears made back-to-back 80s in both the first and second round to represent the full Bulldogs tournament lineup.  
 
SIU's Edouard Cereto won the tournament as the Salukis' first-ever MVC medalist.
