The Basics
Drake women's soccer is seeking its first victory of the 2024 season after starting 0-1-1 over their first two matchups. The Bulldogs are set to conclude a three-game homestand with tilts against in-state rival Iowa State (Aug. 22) and canine foe Butler (Aug. 25).
Bulldogs by the Numbers
Drake opened its season with a road draw at St. Thomas in which freshman forward
Isabella Balsley scored her first-career goal in her first-career start. Balsley's score evened the tally in the second half as the Bulldogs and Tommies played to a 1-1 tie. Drake then returned home to begin their home stretch with a matchup against Kansas. The Jayhawks prevailed in a defensive battle, 1-0.

Scouting Iowa State
The Cyclones are off to an even 1-1 start in the early stages of the 2024 campaign. Iowa State opened the year with a 3-0 win over Western Illinois before dropping a match to Creighton, 2-1.
Iowa State leads the all-time series with Drake 4-7-3. The Bulldogs have won the last two meetings and are 1-3-2 in home games against ISU. Thursday will mark the first matchup between Iowa State and Drake since 2021.

Scouting Butler
Butler is also two games into the 2024 season with a 1-0-1 record so far. Drake's Bulldog counterparts opened the season with a 1-1 draw vs. Ohio before taking down power conference foe and in-state rival Purdue 3-0 in their most recent tilt.
Sunday will be the first-ever meeting between Drake and Butler in women's soccer.
