Drake heads to Windy City for pair of road clashes

The Basics
Drake men's soccer will aim to get back in the win column with a pair of challenging road matches on deck. The Bulldogs will visit the Windy City for its next two tilts against Northwestern (Aug. 30) and DePaul (Sep. 2)

Drake enters the weekend with a 1-1 record after blanking crosstown rival Grand View 3-0 in the season opener (Aug. 22) and dropping a hard-fought road tilt at Creighton, 5-3 (Aug. 25).

Scouting Northwestern
The Wildcats of Northwestern enter the week 2-0 on the season after wins over Green Bay (Aug. 22) and DePaul (Aug. 25). Northwestern was slated eighth in the Big Ten Conference preseason poll and landed three players on the B1G Players to Watch List (Collin McCamy, Nigel Prince, Fritz Volmar).
 
Northwestern leads the all-time series 4-2-2. Drake has not beaten the Wildcats since winning back-to-back matches between 1999-2000. Friday's match will be the first between the two teams since 2012.

Scouting DePaul
Drake and DePaul will face off on Labor Day for a holiday battle in Chicago. The Blue Demons bring a 1-1 record into the week with another chance to pick up a win prior to meeting Drake as DePaul visits St. Thomas in the Twin Cities on Aug. 29. DePaul has split their first two games against a pair of crosstown rivals with a 4-3 win over UIC (Aug. 22) and a 2-1 loss to Northwestern (Aug. 25).
 
The Bulldogs and Blue Demons are dead even in their histories with a 7-7-2 record between them. DePaul has won the last three meetings with Drake's most recent win coming in 2015 and their last victory in Chicago coming in 2003.
