The Basics
Drake men's soccer returns to Des Moines for a pair of matches against non-conference foes. The Bulldogs will first host Houston Christian on Friday, Sep. 6 with kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m. CST, followed by a matchup with Kansas City on Monday, September 9 with a 7 p.m. CST kick.
Bulldogs by the Numbers
Drake comes back after splitting a pair of matches in Chicago against No. 12 Northwestern and DePaul. The Bulldogs ultimately fell to the Wildcats in a tightly contested match by a score of 2-1, but bounced back and claimed a 2-1 victory over the Blue Demons a couple of days later. After the split week, Drake now owns a record of 2-2 on the season.

The Huskies come into their matchup against Drake with an overall record of 1-3 this season following a win over North American and a loss to Gonzaga in their previous two contests. Houston Christian swept the most recent Ohio Valley Conference weekly awards with Ethan Giwa-McNeil being named Offensive Player of the Week, Hans Leza being named Defensive Player of the Week, and Alex Aitken named as Goalkeeper of the Week.
The Bulldogs and the Huskies have faced off just once previously in match that came on August 29, 2014, and ended in a 2-2 draw.

Scouting Kansas City
Kansas currently holds a record of 2-1-1 in the early stages of its 2024 season and has an upcoming contest on the road against Northern Illinois before it makes its way to Des Moines to take on the Bulldogs. In their two previous matches, the Roos split falling to No. 24 UC Santa Barbara, 3-0, and topping Missouri State by a score of 3-2.

Drake will take to the road for its next two matches and will have its first conference game against Evansville on Saturday, Sep. 14. Following the contest with the Aces, Drake will travel to Omaha to face Nebraska-Omaha for a non-conference contest on Tuesday, Sep. 17.
