The Basics
The Drake women's soccer team is slated for a pair of upcoming matches this week and looks to claim its first win of the season. The Bulldogs will first take on the South Dakota State Jackrabbits in road contest (Sept. 8) before returning home to host Green Bay (Sept. 12).
Bulldogs by the Numbers
Drake spent last week on the road and went up against two Summit League opponents in South Dakota and Omaha. Unfortunately for the Bulldogs, things did not go their way as they suffered two defeats. Drake fell to South Dakota by a final score of 3-2 in a hard-fought contest and then lost to Omaha by a score of 2-0.

Scouting South Dakota State
The Jackrabbits come into the contest against the Bulldogs with a record of 4-2-0 and are currently riding a three-game winning streak. Over the course of its winning streak, South Dakota State defeated Wyoming, Western Illinois, and Green Bay all by scores of 3-0 and with all the matches coming on the road.
South Dakota State leads the all-time series over the Bulldogs with a record of 9-6-2 dating back to 2005. The Jackrabbits got the better of the Bulldogs in their matchup last season in Des Moines with a 2-1 victory. The last time Drake tallied a win over South Dakota State was in 2019 with a 1-0 final score. The two squads tied at 1-1 in 2022.

Scouting Green Bay
The Phoenix currently hold a record of 0-3-1 as they begin their 2024 campaign. In its two most recent matches, Green Bay was shutout by South Dakota State and fell to Kansas State. Green Bay will go up against Western Illinois on Thursday, September 5 and will also face Central Michigan prior to taking on the Bulldogs.
The all-time series between Drake and Green Bay, which dates to 2002, sees Drake leading 5-0-2. The Bulldogs won the most recent matchup over Green Bay by a score of 1-0 which came in Green Bay last season.
