NEW DELHI, India – The 2025 World Para Athletics Championships recently concluded competition in India with Drake Relays alumni littered among the medalists.
Americans at large won 28 medals including six golds, nine silvers, and 13 bronze distinctions. The global inclusive impact of the Drake Relays was evident with seven alumni earning international medals.
Mikey Brannigan captured a gold medal in the T20 1500m run while Jaydin Blackwell collected two top honors in the T38 100 and 400.
A trio of field event participants took home silver medals including Luther College alum Josh Cinnamo in the T46 shot put, Cedar Rapids product Jessica Heims in the F44 discus, and Derek Loccident in the T64 long jump.
Roderick Townsend and Hannah Dederick rounded out America's Athletic Classic alumni on the podium with bronze medals in the T47 high jump and T54 400.
