ST. LOUIS, Mo. – A quartet of Drake standouts have been named to the 2025 Missouri Valley Conference Men's Soccer Scholar-Athlete team, the league announced today.
Tomas Butkovic,
Evan Carlson,
Sam DeLong, and
Cole Schrage all earned MVC academic honors after stellar seasons on the pitch and in the classroom.
Schrage, who boasts a 3.65 grade point average in Finance adds this Scholar-Athlete nod to his First Team MVC inclusion while Butkovic and DeLong were both listed on the All-MVC Second Team. Butkovic has earned a 3.63 cumulative GPA in Sociology and History while DeLong has posted a 3.65 in Management & Organizational Leadership.
Carlson, the veteran of the group, is a graduate student who made a 3.56 as an undergrad studying Finance and has since posted a perfect grade point average of 4.00 while pursuing his master's degree.
Western Michigan's Jonathan Stout earned the league's Scholar-Athlete of the Year. The entire list of Scholar-Athlete honorees is below.
