DES MOINES, Iowa – Last week, the Drake men's soccer team had four student-athletes –
Tomas Butkovic,
Evan Carlson,
Sam DeLong, and
Cole Schrage – named Academic All-District selections by the College Sports Communicators, the organization announced.
Butkovic started all 17 games for the Bulldogs this season and posted an 8-2-7 record. He allowed 13 goals and made 45 saves for a .776 save percentage and .76 goals against average. Butkovic led the MVC with seven shutouts.
Carlson started all but one game in 2025. He scored seven total points with three goals and an assist to his credit. All three of Carlson's goals came in the Bulldogs' regular season finale against Bradley to help Drake come from behind and clinch its first regular season title in program history.
DeLong was another iron man for the Dogs this season with 17 starts in as many matches. He was a reliable force on the back end for the Bulldogs with one assist on record this season.
Schrage also started each of Drake's 17 contests in 2025 and scored three total points with a trio of assists. Schrage fired off 11 shots with three on target.
