DES MOINES, Iowa – The 2025 Drake Relays presented by Xtream powered by Mediacom will feature an excellent opportunity for families to get to Drake Stadium and experience the 115th installment of America's Athletic Classic.
On Friday, Apr. 25, any student grade K-12 will receive free admission into the Friday day session (8:30 a.m.-3:45 p.m.), powered by MidAmerican Energy. This ticket deal aligns with professional development days at several metro-area schools, giving students a day off.
"The Drake Relays have always been about more than just competition—they're about community and tradition," said Blake Boldon, the Franklin P. Johnson Director of the Drake Relays. "Bringing back this experience for young students and adding another opportunity for families to enjoy such a unique event is an exciting way to connect the next generation with the history and spirit of the Relays."
Save the voucher linked above for the day of the event and present it to the Drake Stadium ticket office on Forest Ave in exchange for your free ticket. Students K-8 must be accompanied by an adult, and that adult must purchase a ticket to enter. High school students will need to provide school identification to gain admittance.
Kids and parents alike can all then come together for the Friday night session with Family Night. While the action takes place on the track, families can enjoy a variety of exciting activities on the north concourse inside Drake Stadium. Activities include a face painter, balloon artist, bubble station, and inflatables. Stick around at the end of the session for a special arial light show. Whether you're cheering on the athletes or making memories with your little ones, Family Night is the perfect way to experience the energy of the Drake Relays together.
