Drake women's soccer returns to its home pitch for the first time in a month as it gets ready to host the UIC Flames for a Sunday matinee match from Mediacom Stadium. Sunday's match will also serve as Alumni Day for the Bulldogs and celebrate 25 years of Drake women's soccer.
Bulldogs by the Numbers
The Bulldogs are off to a hot start to begin league play earning two road victories over Valparaiso and Evansville to start their league season. Overall, the Bulldogs are 7-3-1 on the season and Drake will put its unblemished home record to the test when they welcome the Flames to Des Moines on Sunday as the Bulldogs are a perfect 5-0 at home so far this season. Drake has dominated opponents from Mediacom Stadium outscoring its foes 17-0 across five matches.

Kamryn Wray and senior
Angela Gutierrez. Wray's goal marked the first of her collegiate career, while Gutierrez scored her team and MVC leading seventh goal of the season. Gutierrez now has four game-winning goals on the year, which is tied for the sixth most in the country.

Scouting UIC
UIC has started off 0-2 in league play falling to Belmont and Illinois State and the Flames are 1-7-2 overall. UIC has struggled in road contests this season having not won an away game. As a team, UIC has totaled 128 shots, but just six have found the back of the net. Defensively, they have allowed 17 goals on 128 shots.
David Nikolic, in his 6th year as head coach of the Flames, made program history during the 2025 campaign leading UIC to their first conference tournament championship.
All time, Drake leads the club's series 5-3. The last time the Bulldogs and Flames met on the pitch, UIC picked up a 1-0 win from Chicago. When playing at home, Drake is 2-1 against UIC. The last time the teams played in Des Moines was November 2024.
