Boldon Among Leadership on NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Track and Field and Cross Country

Drake Relays Director to assist 20-person roster in rules management, championship administration, and other legislation

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Blake Boldon, the Franklin P. Johnson Director of the Drake Relays, has been named to the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Track and Field and Cross Country Oversight Committee.

Boldon is one of 20 national members on the committee who manage rules, championship administration, and legislative decisions for collegiate track and field and cross country. Boldon's term began in August and will run until 2030.

In 2020, Boldon was named to a four-year term on the NCAA Track and Field and Cross Country Committee, serving as chairperson in his fourth year. That same year, Blake was elected to serve as chair of the USATF Men's Long Distance Running, a committee he had served as vice chair for the previous six years.

"I feel privileged to continue to serve all student-athletes, coaches, and everyone else invested in NCAA Division I track and field and cross country on this committee," Boldon said. "I'm eager to represent our event and institution among so many other top-level leaders, and exchange knowledge and experiences in support of collegiate track and cross country."

"It is a tremendous honor to continue to serve student-athletes, coaches and all those invested in NCAA Division I track and field and cross country in this role as committee chair," said Boldon. "I would like to thank the previous chair, Ervin Lewis of North Florida, Jeff Mlynski of the NCAA, in addition to all other current and past committee members and NCAA staff for sharing their leadership, knowledge and experiences to help me to feel prepared for my final year on the committee."

The 2026 cross country season is nearing the NCAA level with regional meets scheduled for Friday, Nov. 13 and NCA Championships set for Saturday, Nov. 21 in Terre Haute, Indiana.
