WAVERLY, Iowa – Drake XC competed within the boundaries of the state of Iowa with a host of competitors at the Dan Huston Invite hosted by Wartburg College.
The Bulldogs produced a champion on the men's side as
Anas Mahboub El Hamdouni ran a personal best 24:35.6 to take top honors in the 8k.
Juan Trasobares came across shortly after him in sixth with a time of 25:20.3, his best of the year.
Lanse Larsen made it back-to-back for the Dogs with a seventh-place mark of 25:26.5.
Gaven Corpin took 14th for Drake in 25:38.1.
Xander Kwa and
John Moellers narrowly missed the top 30 with times of 26:07.8 and 26:10.0, respectively.
The balance of the Bulldog men included
Luke Smith (26:18.8),
Vaughn Larson (26:28.9),
Landon Bendgen (26:47.6),
Ryan Tobin (27:03.4), Jake Devivo (27:27.3), and
Thomas Garrett (27:46.5).
Drake's
Gracie Foster led the women's 6k finishers with a 22nd place time of 23:27.2. The Bulldog women also had three others just outside to the top 30 including Bella Hodges in 31st (23:55.4),
Hannah Kilday in 32nd (23:56.3), and
Fabi Gipson in 36th (24:00.2).
