The Basics

Drake men's tennis remains at home Monday, March 9, for a matchup against the Grinnell Pioneers at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center. First serve is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.

Fans can follow the match through the live scoring link available on the Drake men's tennis schedule page.

Bulldog Breakdown

Drake enters Monday's contest with an 11-2 overall record and will look to extend its current 11-match winning streak. The Bulldogs are coming off a strong home performance last Wednesday against Oral Roberts Golden Eagles, where they earned a 5-2 victory in the team's Summit League opener.

After dropping the doubles point, Drake rallied in singles play by winning five of six matches to secure the comeback victory. The Bulldogs have shown depth throughout the lineup during their winning streak and remain undefeated at home this season heading into Monday's match.

Scouting the Grinnell Pioneers

Grinnell enters the matchup with a 7-2 overall record. The Pioneers compete at the NCAA Division III level and are coming off a 7-0 loss to Northern Illinois last Sunday.

The Pioneers are led by head coach Zack Hasenyager, who took over the program ahead of the 2021-22 season. In his first season, Hasenyager guided the team to its 18th consecutive Midwest Conference title and an appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament.

Before arriving at Grinnell, Hasenyager spent seven seasons at the College of Wooster, where he led the program to a top-25 regional finish and earned North Coast Athletic Conference Coach of the Year honors in 2019. A former standout player at the University of Redlands, Hasenyager helped the Bulldogs qualify for the NCAA Division III Tournament in each of his four seasons.
