DES MOINES, Iowa – Drake men's tennis had its hands full at home in the Bulldogs' 2026 non-conference finale. The Dogs hosted the No. 63 Shockers of Wichita State which left Des Moines with a 6-1 victory.
The Shockers took an early overall lead after winning two of three doubles matches. The hosts' No. 2 team of Rodrigo Cruz and Ilias Hirano Worthington beat Drake's
Alan Gonzalez and
Ben Johnson while the Shocker set of Alejandro Jacome and Felix Bockelmann Evans took down
Alex Yeager and

Worthington started things off for Wichita State in singles play, beating Chrsitian Winstead in the top spot (6-1, 6-3). Amir Milushev, Cruz, and Luke Baracks provided three more points after winning matches in the 4-5-6 spots, respectively.
Sam Melaga eventually got the Bulldogs on the board in the No. 3 match, defeating Jacome in three sets, but not before the Shockers' Zaid Mashni, ranked 113th nationally, downed
