The Drake women's soccer team continues its current stretch of road contests as it heads west on I-80 to challenge the Omaha Mavericks for its non-conference finale on Saturday, Sep. 12. Kickoff against the Mavericks is slated for 6 p.m.
 
Bulldogs by the Numbers
Drake saw its five-match winning streak snapped in their last time out as they fell on the road against South Dakota, 2-0. The Bulldogs now have an overall record of 5-3 on the season, winning all five matches from Des Moines but dropping every away match. Drake has outscored its opponents in home matches 17-0, but on the road the Bulldogs have been outscored 4-0.

Angela Gutierrez continues to be an offensive force for Drake through the non-conference slate leading the team with six goals on the season. In terms of national rankings, Gutierrez is tied for 13th in goals (6), tied for first in game-winning goals (3), T46 in goals per game (.75), and T12 in total points (15). Defender Zoey Mahoney has been Drake's top distributor on the year with five assists to her credit. Mahoney's five helpers are tied for the second most in the Missouri Valley Conference and are tied for the 10th most in the nation.

Scouting Omaha
Omaha comes into its matchup with Drake carrying an overall record of 1-3-2 and will look for its first win on its home field on Saturday as it is 0-2-1 from Canglia Field this season. The Mavericks lone win this season came against UNI back on Aug. 20. In their last time out, the Mavericks fell to Idaho State, 2-0. Offense has been sparse for the Mavericks so far in 2026 scoring just one goal in their first six matches.

The all-time series between the Bulldogs and Mavericks is deadlocked at 5-5. Drake got the better of Omaha from Des Moines last season with a 2-1 victory, but the Bulldogs are 2-3 in the last five meetings against the Mavericks. Drake has never beaten Omaha on the road with an all-time record of 0-3.
