DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake women's tennis team gets its fall schedule underway this weekend with a trip to the Twin Cities. The Bulldogs are set to compete at the Gopher Invitational in Minneapolis from Sep. 25-27.
 
At last year's Gopher Invitational, lone returner Jordan Dookie earned a 6-4, 7-5 over Else Vander Stichele of St. Thomas. Dookie and Maja Dodik teamed up for a 6-4 win over UNI's duo of Yangjiaxin Li and Kanyanut Sudsaard on day one before Shiori Takeda and Dookie defeated South Dakota's Keta Shavishvili and Natalia Alves De Lima by a 6-2 margin.
 
Following this weekend's action, the women's fall slate will then turn to October for Drake's final three contests of the season. Drake will head to Normal, Ill. for the Redbird Invitational from Oct. 2-4 before traveling to Memphis, Tenn. for the ITA Regional Championships from Oct. 14-19.
 
Drake's autumn schedule will end back inside the Roger Knapp Tennis Center from Oct. 31-Nov. 1 for the Drake Invite.
