Prep: Second team all-conference, second team all-area, effort player of the year and football team captain as a senior for Lincoln-Way East...prep teams went undefeated in the regular season each of his four years...six-time scholar-athlete award winner...graduated with high honors.

Personal: Finance major ... son of Robert and Patti Hern ... brother, Charlie, plays baseball at North Central College … was named to the 2013 and 2012 Pioneer Football League Fall Academic Honor Roll.
