Jaran Richman is in his first season as Assistant to the Head Coach at Drake.
Richman comes to Drake from Northwest Missouri State where he spent two years as a student-athlete, two years as a graduate assistant, and the 2023-24 season as a full-time assistant coach.
In his first season as a graduate assistant during the 2021-22 season, Northwest capped off a streak of three consecutive national championships, the first team in NCAA Div. II men's basketball to ever accomplish this feat.
In the 2022-23 season, the Bearcats won their 10th consecutive conference championship and finished the season 31-3.
Richman helped guide Northwest to its 11th straight MIAA regular season crown in 2023-24. The Bearcats finished the 2023-24 season with a mark of 29-5.
Before becoming a graduate assistant, Richman played at Northwest Missouri State where he was a part of the national championship team in 2020-21. Richman was named the NCAA Elite 90 Award winner at the 2021 NCAA Tournament. In the 2019-20 COVID-cancelled season, Northwest finished the season at 31-1 and was ranked No. 1 in the country.
Prior to joining the Bearcat men's basketball team, he played for North Central Missouri College in Trenton, Mo. Richman was a team captain on the first-ever national tournament team in school history.
