Nick Norton joined the Drake men's basketball coaching staff during the 2021-22 season as assistant director of operations and was promoted to director of operations ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.
A successful student-athlete at UAB from 2014-18, Norton made 97 starts for the Blazers. His best statistical season in Birmingham, came during the 2015-16 slate when he averaged 8.9 points, 5.0 assists and 1.6 steals.
Norton grad-transferred to Drake in 2018 and made 14 starts putting up 14.0 points, 5.9 assists and 4.1 rebounds per game before an injury ended his collegiate career. Norton set Drake's single-game assists record (17) in a contest against North Dakota State, a record that stood until the 2022-23 season when Roman Penn dished out 18 assists in one game at Evansville.
In 2019, Norton signed with the South Bay Lakers of the NBA G League, where he appeared in two games before stepping away due to injuries.
