Big guard looking for playing time in freshman season...showed promise on Drake's foreign tour in August 2011, scoring 11 points and grabbing 7 rebounds in four games versus professional teams in Australia and New Zealand.
2011-2012 (Freshman) -- Has seen action in seven games.
- Recorded two steals and two points in his Bulldogs debut against Upper Iowa (11/12).
- Started the second half at Boise State (11/30) and made 2-of-4 three-point attempts.
High School: Earned first-team 4A all-state honors from the Des Moines Register in 2011 as a senior at Waukee (Iowa) High School...led his school to the state quarterfinals, averaging 18 points per game, in his one season at Waukee after transferring from Basha High School in Chandler, Ariz...originally recruited by Drake head coach Mark Phelps when Phelps was assistant at Arizona State, and moved to Iowa for his senior season to be closer to the Drake program.
Personal: Dual major in business and secondary education...has aspirations of being a college basketball coach...son of Dean and Cindy Welfringer...has a sister, Kelsie...Judson Welfringer was born Dec. 30, 1991.
