Drake University Athletics

Jacob Kaemmer is in his second year assisting with the Drake University cross country teams and the Bulldogs' distance runners.

Prior to joining the Bulldog staff, he coached girls cross country and track and field at nearby Des Moines Roosevelt High School from 2002-15. While there, he coached many future Bulldogs including Conor Wells and Emma Huston. The latter went on to set four school records at Drake and was an MVC Champion in the 5,000 meters.

A native of Fenton, Mo., Kaemmer graduated from Truman State in 2000 and earned All-MIAA honors for the Bulldogs in the 10,000 meters. Following his collegiate career, Kaemmer went on to win the 2004 Lincoln Marathon, 2005 Des Moines Half Marathon and 2011 and 2012 Portland Half Marathon.
