Davidson Kozlowski will enter the 2022-23 season in his 11th year directing the Drake men’s tennis program.
Kozlowski is a 6-time conference coach of the year (Missouri Valley Conference and Summit League). His Bulldog teams have won six conference tournament championships and five regular season conference championships.
Drake had never won an NCAA Tournament match before Kozlowski took over and led Drake to the round of 32 in 2013 and 2015. In 2013, the Bulldogs bested Texas Christian and they defeated Louisville in 2015.
In total, Kozlowski has guided Drake to seven NCAA Tournament appearances including the 2022 season after winning the Summit League Tournament.
The Bulldogs have been nationally recognized with their highest ranking in school history being No. 16. Kozlowski has always scheduled his teams against incredible competition. Drake men’s tennis’ highest ranked win came over No. 14 Washington.
Prior to Drake, Kozlowski was an assistant men’s tennis coach at the University of Alabama-Birmingham (UAB) from 2004-12.
Kozlowski came to UAB after spending three years as the Director of Tennis at Birchtree Swim and Racquet Club, a position he continued to hold until his appointment at Drake.
A native of Sarasota, Fla., Kozlowski played collegiate tennis at Auburn (1994-96) before transferring to Florida State for his final two seasons (1997-99). While competing for the Seminoles, Kozlowski was a regular in the FSU lineup both years in Tallahassee playing No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles. He earned a bachelor’s degree in social science from Florida State in 1999.
Following graduation from Florida State, Kozlowski played on the Futures and Challenger Circuit from 1999-2002.
Kozlowski and his wife, Jennifer, have three children: Alex, Anya and Chase.
