Stephanie Jenks, a decorated native Iowan runner has joined the Drake University track & field and cross country staff in January, 2020, as coordinator of operations.

A native of Aurora, Iowa, and product of Linn-Mar High School, Jenks recently graduated from the University of California, where she was a member of the Bears' cross country and track & field teams.

Before her collegiate career at Cal, Jenks was one of the most decorated athletes in Iowa track and field history.

While at Linn-Mar, she won 11 state titles and nine Drake Relays titles all in individual events. Those combined 20 individual state and Relays titles are the most ever by an Iowa girl and her nine individual Relays titles are also a record.

Jenks owned the 1,500 meters on the Blue Oval, winning four-straight titles in the event and remains the only competitor to do so and hold the state record in the 1,500 and 3,000 meters as well.

She is one of just three runners in Iowa history to have four state titles in the 1,500 and 3,000 meters and one of two that have won the 800, 1,500 and 3,000 meters three times.

At Drake, Jenks will oversee and aid in the day-to-day operations of the track and field program, including team travel and logistical planning for the Bulldogs' track & field and cross country programs.
