Sonia Allison-Rodriguez has served as Drake women's soccer Director of Goalkeeper Development since 2019.
Prior to Drake, Allison-Rodriguez had coaching stints at the collegiate level at the University of Northern Iowa as an assistant coach (2009-13) and served as a graduate assistant at Winthrop University for three seasons (2007-09).
Allison-Rodriguez was also the goalkeeper coach for the Iowa Rush during the 2021 season and served as goalkeeper coach for Cedar Valley Soccer Club for five years (2009-13) at the youth levels.
Allison-Rodriguez played college soccer at Liberty and was team captain in 2005. While at Liberty, Allison-Rodriguez was the receipt of the Rock Royer/Mac Rivera award, a 2005 Big South Conference All-Academic Team selection, and participated in the NCAA Tournament two times (2001 and 2005). After graduation, Allison-Rodriguez played professionally for Santos FC in Brazil for one season in 2006 and for the USL W-League Charlotte Eagles for two seasons in 2007 and 2008.
Allison-Rodriguez holds a bachelor's degree from Liberty in biology where she also minored in chemistry.
