Andre McIntyre

Andre McIntyre began his Drake career as Assistant Athletics Director for Sports Performance in June 2025.

He moved to Des Moines after three years at the University of Iowa (2022-25) as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. Previously, McIntyre also served in the same role at South Dakota State University (2017-22), a Graduate Assistant for the Jackrabbits (2017-19), a Strength and Conditioning Intern at Creighton University (2015-17), and Excel Physical Therapist (2012-15).

While at Iowa, Andre worked with men's basketball, women's soccer, cross country, women's tennis, and women's golf. He was named 2024 Athletic Staff Member of the Year and helped the Hawkeye women's soccer squad win the 2023 Big Ten Tournament championship and reach the 2024 NCAA Sweet 16.

As a member of the SDSU staff, McIntyre also women's soccer, football, wrestling, track and field, tennis, golf, equestrian, and cheer and dance. The Jackrabbit women's soccer club also saw success with McIntyre on board with two Summit League Tournament titles and NCAA Tournament berths. He was instrumental in the Jackrabbits' football dynasty with multiple MVFC championships and FCS National Championship appearances. SDSU wrestling saw 13 total NCAA qualifiers with four All-Americans during his tenure while the track and field team had a host of conference champions and regional qualifiers.

At Creighton, McIntyre coordinated sports performance effort for the men's and women's tennis teams, men's and women's golf teams, men's and women's cross country teams, and the rowing team.

Andre earned his Master's of Science in Nutrition and Exercise Sciences, with a specialization in Exercise Science, from South Dakota State after collecting two Bachelor's of Science degrees in Exercise Science and Health and Human Sports Physiology from Wayne State College, where he played football. 

McIntyre is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He is also First Aid and CPR/Basic Life Support certified with another certification in Reflexive Performance Reset.

Andre grew up in Omaha, Nebraska.
