Emily Jorgensen began her tenure at Drake in January 2026.
She moved to Des Moines after serving as the Director of Academic Success & Assistant AD for Student-Athlete Development/Senior Woman Administrator at Upper Iowa University from 2021-26. Prior to her time at UIU, Jorgensen was an Alumni Relations Graduate Assistant (2019-21) and Athletics Intern (2016-19) at Southwest Minnesota State University.
During her professional career, Emily has been recognized as the 2025 UIU Dr. Joseph McGowan Visionary Award as part of the Student-Athlete Development Series. In 2025, Jorgensen was also named UIU Distinguished Staff Member. Emily was the Academics/Student-Athlete Development Circle Lead for Women Leaders in Sport from 2024-25. She was previously named as one of the Top Women Leaders of Iowa in 2023 by Women We Admire.
Jorgensen was a member of the SMSU women's soccer team from 2015-19. While with the Mustangs, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Sports Management (2019) and Master of Business Administration (2021).
Emily and her husband, Alex, have a son named Krue. The Jorgensen family currently resides in Adel.
