Greg Kay began his stint at Drake in July 2022 as the Assistant Director of Marketing until he was promoted to Director of Marketing in April 2023.
He directs marketing and promotional plans for all 18 sports and serves as point-of-contact for football, men's basketball, and the Drake Relays marketing efforts. Kay focuses on driving attendance, enhancing fans' game day experience, and elevating the Drake Athletics brand. Under his direction, Drake has set attendance, season ticket, and revenue records across multiple sports. Additionally, Kay coordinates all aspects of digital marketing and advertising within athletics. He is also the primary administrator for the Bulldog spirit squads (band, cheer, and dance).
Kay was a member of the 2023-24 NACMA Mid-Level Cohort, a program aimed at providing tailored tools, training, resources, and networking opporunities to mid-level marketing professionals.
Prior to Drake, Kay previously served as an Atheltics Marketing Assistant at the University of Rhode Island from 2021-22 and completed internships with Boston University Athletics Marketing, Special Olympics Rhode Island, Firecracker Sports, and the Rhode Island Sports Commission.
Kay hails from South Kingstown, Rhode Island and attended Endicott College where he received his Bachelor of Science in Sport Management (2020) and Master of Science in Sport Leadership (2021).
