Kylea Sheley joined the Drake Sports Medicine staff in August of 2022, working primarily with the football program. Prior to Drake, Sheley served in a clinical athletic training role for Sanford Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Sheley previously work on The University of South Dakota Coyote Sports Medicine staff from 2015-2021 working with the Coyote Women's basketball program that saw 3 NCAA tournament berths and several conference titles. She also worked with Coyote football, cross country, track & field and Spirit Squad teams while at USD.
Sheley has experience working at the high school level in Iowa, Drake Relays, USA Track & Field National Championships, and Indoor Football League with the Sioux Falls Storm.
Sheley received her BS in Kinesiology and Health from Iowa State University in 2011 and her MA in Kinesiology and Sport Science from The University of South Dakota in 2013.
Sheley and her wife, Ali, reside in the greater Des Moines area with their mini Australian Shepard, Charlie. In her spare time, Sheley enjoys going on family adventures or hikes, building Legos or puzzles, or spending time with friends and family.
