Drake University Athletics

Armstrong came to Drake in August 2020. She provides athletic training services to the Bulldogs' tennis teams as well as the Drake volleyball program.

Her Drake tenure started after serving as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Indiana State University from 2018-20. While with the Sycamores, Armstrong worked with the women's swimming and diving and baseball teams.

Tara currently serves as an Athletic Training Preceptor, an Indiana State University Adjunct Faculty Member in Leadership & Professional Development, is a part of the AATERN Research Network, is a member of the Missouri Valley Conference Mental Health Care Team, and has a spot on the Drake University Athletics Welcome and Well-Being Committee. She previously had roles as a Drake University Adjunct Faculty Member in the Master of Atheltic Training program and on the AATE Behavioral Health Care Team.

In 2020, Armstrong was named Outstanding Graduate Assistant at the Doctoral Level and given the Outstanding Doctoral Student Research Award at Indiana State. She also received the 2022 Drake University Preceptor of the Year honor.
