DES MOINES, IOWA - The Drake football team set 18 Pioneer Football League Championship records during its 20-17 victory at Morehead State Saturday.

Freshman Scott Phaydavong (Des Moines East) and senior kicker Tyler McGlade (Council Bluffs/St. Albert) played a hand in setting four individual records apiece. Phaydavong set records for all-purpose running yards (203), rushing yards (178), longest run (82) and longest rush for a touchdown (82).

McGlade kicked the first field goal ever in the four-year history of the PFL Championship. He set PFL championship marks for field goals made (two), field goal attempts (three), longest field goal (45) and most points by a kicker (eight).

Junior punter Ryan Horvath (Overland Park, Kan./Blue Valley North) kicked the longest punt in the four-year history of the PFL Championship game with a 58-yard punt in the second half.

The Bulldogs set five team records, while tying another mark. Among the team marks Drake set were highest average yards gained per play (7.0); fewest rushing yards allowed, 71; while tying the PFL Championship record with four quarterbacks sacks.
