DES MOINES, IOWA - Winning consecutive matches for the first time this season, the Drake women's tennis team earned a decisive 7-0 triumph over UMKC on Sunday (March 11) at the Drake Tennis Center.
The Bulldogs garnered victories at the top two doubles positions to take a 1-0 lead into singles play.
In her first action of the spring, junior Daria Zawislak (Gdansk, Poland) posted a 6-2, 6-0 win versus Suzanne Bott at No. 5 singles.
Drake also garnered singles victories from sophomore
Veronika Leszayova (Povazska Bystrica/Slovak Republic), junior Irina Kalashnikova (Sochi, Russia), sophomore Zi Wang (Hebei Province, China) and sophomore
Sarah Plowman (Halifax, Nova Scotia).
The Bulldogs have two weeks off before resuming their schedule with a home match versus Nebraska-Omaha on March 25 at noon.
