CEDAR FALLS, IOWA - The Drake volleyball turned in a strong performance in its Missouri Valley Conference opener, but Northern Iowa proved too powerful as the Panthers outlasted the Bulldogs in a 3-1 (21-25, 25-19, 28-26, 25-17) triumph on Friday evening (Sept. 19) at the McLeod Center.
Drake fashioned one of its best efforts of the season attempting to collect its first victory over Northern Iowa since 1996, but fell to 7-5 (0-1 MVC) with the setback, while the Panthers improved to 10-1 overall, including 1-0 in league play.
“We held our own defensively against a talented Northern Iowa team tonight,” Drake head coach
