DES MOINES, IOWA - The Drake women's tennis team easily downed South Dakota on Sunday (March 22) as the Bulldogs earned a 7-0 victory at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center to complete a sweep of their three-match homestand.

Drake extended its winning streak to three matches en route to improving its ledger to 6-8 on the year and in the process dropped the Coyotes to 8-8.

Drake swept all three doubles contests with the duo of senior Kari Sloboth (Omaha, Neb.) and freshman Gabriela Demos (Chesterfield, Mo.) clinching the doubles point with their 8-0 triumph versus Janae Hagen and Melanie Rockne at the No. 3 position.

Freshman Amanda Aragon (Fort Collins, Colo.) and senior Veronika Leszayova (Povazska Bystrica, Slovak Republic) extended the margin to 3-0 before freshman Jessica Aguilera (Santa Cruz, Bolivia) cashed in another Bulldog victory with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Isabel Nunez at the No. 4 singles slot.

Sloboth chipped in a 6-0, 6-0 decision against Hagen at No. 5 before Demos and sophomore Jessica Labarte (Barcelona, Venezuela) rounded out the win total for Drake at the Nos. 2 and 3 holes, respectively.

The Bulldogs return to the court on March 29 as Drake opens Missouri Valley Conference action at Northern Iowa.  Match time in Cedar Falls is slated for 12:00 p.m.
