DES MOINES, IOWA - Collecting a 5-2 victory over UMKC on Saturday (Feb. 27) at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center, the Drake women's tennis team extended its winning streak to four straight matches.

The Kangaroos made the Bulldogs earn every point in doubles as the tandem of freshman Ali Patterson (Overland Park, Kan.) and junior Jessica Labarte (Barcelona, Venezuela) pulled out an 8-6 decision at No. 2 to secure the doubles tally.

Drake lost a tough battle at the top spot where Eva Dalvai and Chelsea Horner edged sophomore Gabriela Demos (Chesterfield, Mo.) and freshman Manca Krizman (Solkan, Slovenia), 8-7 (5).

In singles, the Bulldogs garnered wins from Patterson, Labarte and sophomore Earlynn Lauer (Wichita, Kan.) at the Nos. 2, 5 and 6 positions, respectively, with sophomore Jessica Aguilera (Santa Cruz, Bolivia) clinching the match with her 6-3, 6-0 triumph over Suzan Lisenby at No. 4.

Drake closes out its homestand facing Chicago State on Sunday (Feb. 28) in a 2:00 p.m. matinee affair.
