CARBONDALE, ILL. -- The Drake women's golf team fell short by one stroke in defending its title at the Saluki Invitational Monday.
After posting a 15-over-par 303 first-round total to grab a 12-stroke lead over Murray State and Indiana State, the Bulldogs shot a 315 final round to finish second with a 303-315=618. Indiana Satte rallied to win the tournament with a 315-302=617.

Olivia Lansing (Dellwood, Minn.) defended her medalist title with a 71-74=145 score on the par-72, 6,863-yard Hickory Ridge Golf Course.

Elena Vukmir (Wauwatosa, Wis.) tied for 12th. Mathwick had a 76-81=157, while Vukmir posted an 80-77=157.
