WHAT'S AHEAD: Drake will resume action in the 16-team Jackrabbit Invitational next Monday and Tuesday (March 15-16) at the Primm Valley Golf Club in Primm, Nev., The men will play on the par-72, 7,065-yard Desert Course.

Participating teams include Arkansas State, Cleveland State, Loyola (Md.), Nebraska, North Dakota, North Dakota State, Northern Iowa, Oakland, Oral Roberts, South Dakota, Southern Utah, UMKC, Western Illinois, Youngstown State and host South Dakota State.

A LOOK BACK: Drake has been idle since finishing second in the Carlton Oaks Invitational in Santee, Calif., Feb. 16, carding a 54-hole score of 303-313-312=928.

Point Loma Nazarene won the tournament with a 312-315-297=924. Joel Salmond of Point Loma Nazarene captured medalist honors with a 77-74-77=228.

Drake senior Luke Joy (Dorsett, England), who owned the first-day lead, tied for second with a 70-76-83=229.

Drake junior Ben Freeman (Fargo, N.D.) tied for fifth at 77-81-73=231, while Drake junior Cody Schweinefus (Decorah, Iowa) tied for seventh with a 77-79-77=233. Drake freshman Jared Gustafson (Omaha, Neb.) tied for 16th at 79-81-81=241, while junior Brad Reierson (Chaska, Minn.) tied for 18th at 85-77-81=243.
