WICHITA, KAN. - Facing the defending Missouri Valley Conference champions
proved too much for the Drake women's tennis team as Wichita State registered a
7-0 victory over the Bulldogs on Sunday (April 4).
The Shockers garnered what proved to be the only point they
needed in the affair sweeping all three doubles contests to secure the doubles
point.
Playing in her hometown, sophomore Earlynn Lauer (Wichita, Kan.) came up just short
of extending her contest at the No. 6 position to a third set dropping a
6-1, 7-5 decision to Iasmine Carpen.
Drake returns to action Saturday (April 10) with a 10:00 a.m.
tilt at Evansville.
