DES MOINES, IOWA -
Drake junior pitcher Jenna DeLong
(Dalton Gardens, Idaho) earned first team all-Missouri Valley Conference
honors
in voting conducted by the league's coaches, the conference announced
Wednesday
evening at its annual post season softball tournament banquet.
Drake junior pitcher Brynne
Dordel (Chanhassen, Minn.) and junior catcher Erin
Mollohan (Tinley Park, Ill.) earned second team honors.
DeLong earned first team honors in the Designated
Player/Pitcher spot after registering a conference-best 1.56 earned run
average
in 26 starts for the Bulldogs. The junior went 17-11 and struck out 217
batters, the fourth-highest single season total in Drake history.
Dordel was named to the all-MVC second team after going
15-9 with a 1.91 ERA, which ranked fourth in the MVC. She struck out 185
batters
during 172.2 innings of work, the sixth most in a season ever for a
Drake
pitcher.
Mollohan hit .300 to lead the team and broke Drake's
single-season doubles record with 18. In addition, Mollohan played
excellent
defense behind the plate and led the Valley in putouts with 404, the
fifth most
in a single season in Drake annals.
DeLong, Dordel, Mollohan and the Drake softball team host

Bulldogs will meet Wichita State Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
