MANHATTAN, KAN. - The Drake women's tennis team
closed its road swing through Kansas dropping a 6-1 decision at Kansas State on
Sunday (Jan. 23).
The Wildcats took the
doubles point with victories at the bottom two positions before the tandem of
sophomore Manca Krizman (Solkan, Slovenia) and Gabriela Demos (Chesterfield, Mo.) registered a
9-7 triumph over Karla Bonacic and Petra Niedermayerova at No. 1.
In singles, junior Amanda Aragon (Fort
Collins, Colo.) accounted for Drake's lone tally in the match dispatching of
Carmen Borau Ramos at No. 6, 6-4, 5-7, 10-5.
The Bulldogs return
to action on Feb. 5 with a 12:00 p.m. match at Kansas.
